NEW SUZUKI SWIFT SIGHTED

YOU will have to look hard to spot the difference but this is the all-new Suzuki Swift due here this autumn.
The current Swift is an excellent car but Suzuki says this next gen version represents a significant step forwards in terms of safety, handling, fuel consumption and emissions. It has CO2 ratings of 116 g/km, making it one of the best performers in its supermini sector.
Extensive use of higher strength steel means Suzuki can actually use less metal in its construction, making the Swift’s shell both lighter and stiffer which bodes well for both crash protection and good handling because the stiffer the chassis the more accurately engineers can fine-tune the suspensions settings.
Adding to this last aspect, the Swift has a wider track (the distance across the car between the wheels), larger wheels with lower profile tyres and variable gear ratio steering.
At launch it will have a 1.2 litre petrol engine which is more powerful than the 1.3 it will replace and early next year a 1.3 diesel which will average more than 65 mpg is planned.
