Rodius comes with 250,000 mile warranty for taxi firms. SSANGYONG PROTECTS TAXI DRIVERS. RECENTLY-reformed SsangYong is adding another weapon to its armoury by offering taxi drivers buying one of its very capable Rodius seven-seaters a 250,000 mile warranty plus the offer of a replacement vehicle if theirs is of the road.
The Rodius starts at under £15,000 and is unique in this price range in being big enough to take a driver and six passengers plus their luggage, making it popular with airport-run operators.
Now SsangYong is offering these companies a three year/250,000 mile warranty with the back-up of a replacement Rodius if theirs breaks down so they do not need to lose any custom. Designed to keep taxis working, the warranty cover includes the engine, transmission, four-wheel drive components (when applicable), wheel bearings, brakes and electronic components such as ABS systems and engine ECUs.
Whereas the standard warranty is designed for 'normal' motoring with very comprehensive bumper-to-bumper cover, the 250,000 mile hire and reward warranty works for taxi owners by giving them exactly what they need.
SsangYong marketing director, Nigel Unwin, said: "We have taken soundings from the taxi trade and addressed their needs. Normal customers don't miss out. In fact they get an even more comprehensive warranty tailored to their needs and likely mileages. The taxi warranty is designed to keep the vehicle working for its owner over much greater distances."
The UK operation of SsangYong has been completely overhauled in recent months with a new and experienced distributor and new management headed by ex-Kia and Daihatsu star, Paul Williams.
An announcement is due soon on a possible new franchise holder in North Staffordshire.
